What We Do

Understanding Colostomy and Ileostomy Care

A stoma is a surgical opening on the abdomen to redirect waste, and there are three main types: ileostomy, colostomy, and urostomy. An ileostomy uses the small bowel to divert stool, a colostomy uses the large bowel for stool, and a urostomy redirects urine from the kidneys. These stomas can be either temporary or permanent.

This opening might be temporary, with the possibility of being reversed later, or it could be a permanent solution.

Our specially trained care professionals provide personalised stoma care under the close supervision of qualified clinical leadership.
